Are there any specific requirements for passport photos when applying for a Taiwan e-visa?

When applying for a Taiwan e-visa, one of the requirements is to submit photos. Each applicant is required to obtain at least a passport-sized photograph of themselves with a white background. The photos must be recent and taken within the last six months.

  • Facial expression: The applicant should have a neutral facial expression with both eyes open and looking directly at the camera. 

  • Head position: The head should be centered and facing forward, with the face occupying around 70-80% of the photo. Both ears should be visible.

  • Clothing: The applicant should avoid wearing hats, caps, or head coverings that obscure the hairline or cast shadows on the face. However, head coverings worn for religious or cultural reasons are allowed.

  • Glasses: If the applicant wears glasses, the eyes should be clearly visible without any glare or reflections.
